The Founder and CEO of MathsGee
Edzai Conilias Zvobwo is the founder of MathsGenius Leadership Institute, the Education Support Forum, and NdiribhoTV. He is passionate about empowering Africans through mathematics, problem-solving techniques, and media. His work, through the various organisations that he leads, is focused on creating an ecosystem for disseminating information, training, and supporting STEM education for all African people.
He holds a BSc Honours degree in Applied Mathematics, a UNICEF/IOCE Certificate in Emerging Practices in Development Evaluations, a UNICEF/IOCE Certificate in Gender-Responsive Monitoring and Evaluation, a Diploma in Business Analysis, a Certificate in Data Analysis, and a Certificate in Creative Problem Solving. He is also the author of numerous books, including ‘Spreading Mathematical Happiness’, ‘Girlchild Rise Up in STEM’ and ‘Artisanship: a path to greatness.
Challenge
How to encourage, and prepare the next generation to find solutions to social, political and economic problems.
Solution
Edzai has founded various organisations within the STEM and Media fields to empower African youth to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to find solutions to the social, political, and economic problems that affect our continent. The goal is to ensure that learners become good problem solvers.
Impacts
He has launched a crowdsourced online maths learning and teaching forum through MathsGee.
The MathsGee STEM support process is learner-centred and knowledge is viewed as a social construct facilitated by peer interaction, evaluation and cooperation. To encourage learners, and to capitalize on each other’s resources and skills.
Currently, The MathsGee has 13,717 users.
MBA students from leading institutions of higher learning have benefited from his tutoring on research methods and statistics.
